Description:

This is a US-only swap. If there is interest, let me know in the comments or even better with a DM, with your recommendation on a weight limit, and I may set up an international one. Turnaround time would be quicker.

Minimum 4.98 rating to participate with at least 20 swaps completed, no unresolved 1's or 3's in the past 6 months.

Send your partner a 2oz envelope of solstice-inspired items, sender's choice (but consult profile for limits on scents, etc), with at least ONE ITEM MADE BY YOU. They could be mostly inspo, or they could be items your partner might use on a solstice altar. To keep postage reasonable, try to stay close to 2oz. As another host said, 1 stamp is too little, 3 stamps isn't required. There is no requirement for the number of items.

This is a Type 3 swap, meaning one item must be handmade. Rate your partner a 5 if you received an envie in the arena of 2oz with one handmade item.

From Moonfall Metaphysical:

"As a spiritual holiday, Litha is a time for rituals and ceremonies that honour the sun and the energy of the summer season. It is a time to connect with the natural world and to celebrate the beauty and diversity of life. It is also a time to reflect on personal growth and to set intentions for the rest of the year."

There is no restriction on handmade - collage, painting, crochet, sewing, etc. Please make sure you are willing to put a little time into this and give an item you would love to keep! If you're more of a fine artist, you could draw or paint based on some of the inspiration below. If you're a collage artist, you could create a small mood board or vision board. If you sew, you could create ATC or PC-sized collage, or perhaps small herb/seed pouches or an altar cloth. General crafters could make a small deco book / ritual book reflecting solstice themes. Or, take photos of summer/solstice themed items and send prints to your partner.

I have included a lot of additional ideas below, but feel free to be creative and go your own way!

  • Items for your partner's altar - see below
  • Summer recipes using strawberry, honey, mint, or lemon
  • Fun napkins for a picnic or outdoor ritual
  • Rituals you use or which sound interesting and you would like to share
  • Ideas for practices or activities to celebrate Solstice
  • images or artwork of the sun, a sun disk, or sundial (handmade or otherwise)
  • images or artwork of candles, bonfires, summery wreaths
  • wand ingredients: items for your partner to use in creating a wand, like ribbons or herbs - see below for color and herb suggestions
  • link to a summer playlist (make sure it can be accessed without memberships or sign-ins - or just go old-school and send a list!)
  • tarot/oracle cards or altered cards featuring themes and energies of summer solstice - see link above for associations >- The Sun (XIX) >- The Empress (III) >- The Emperor (IV) >- The Wheel of Fortune (X) >- The Lovers (VI)
  • a summer solstice specific tarot layout including meanings
  • summer-themed mandala: create or color
  • incense like frankincense or sandalwood, lemon verbena, lavender, citrus, or mint

Some people may want to create a solstice altar. Suggested altar colors include yellow, orange, red, gold, and white (though Litha link above mentions green and blue as well). Here are a few ideas of items you could include in your swap. Most of these are taken from Eclectic Witchcraft.

  • herbs and fruit: images or artwork of herbs and fruits that are in season, e.g., tomatoes, and peaches; Herbs that correspond to solar energy include basil, bayberry leaves, chamomile, dill, fennel, marigold, mint, nettle, pine needles, sage, St John’s wort, tarragon, thyme, valerian, and yarrow.

  • crystals: images of or crystals that correspond to solar energy, including amethyst, citrine, hematite, jasper, lapis lazuli, malachite, opal, peridot, rose quartz, smalt, tourmaline, tiger eye, and yellow sapphire

  • Seeds: Sunflower seeds: magical correspondences include courage, hope, faith, power, protection, and luck; Poppy seeds: magical correspondences include wisdom, intuition, creativity, healing, and divination.

  • Gods and goddesses: Images or artwork of solar goddesses, like Amaterasu and Sekhmet or solar gods like Ra and Apollo, the Wiccan Oak King and Green Man, or your interpretation of Divine Masculine energy

I know it will not be necessary, but I will angel - if necessary.
